Are you in job search mode? Then you need to be sure to have multiple interviews in the pipeline! Multiple interviews mean more options. Job seekers can easily fall in the trap of putting too much emphasis on one interview, and then be completely heartbroken when it doesn’t work out. Has this happened to you?
There is nothing more empowering than having options. And the great thing is, YOU have the power to make it happen! To increase your options, you need to increase your opportunities. And yes, I did use the word “opportunities” – not postings or openings.
When you think of your job search in terms of “opportunities” you open yourself up to POSSIBILITIES. Your attitude and perspective shifts; from “advertised position soliciting a predefined skill-set to perform specific tasks” (postings and openings), to “unadvertised positions or situations where a job seeker’s skill-set can contribute to company/shareholder value” (opportunities).
Understanding and embracing these differences will give you the edge in your job search!
What would opportunity look like to you?
How you can start looking for opportunities and openings?
You will see a major shift in your search when you do!
